LifeWorksTM

LifeWorksTM is a comprehensive 4-level development programme that aims to train and develop students in a holistic and progressive approach.

The modules are organized in a spiralling curriculum that shifts emphasis from one level to the next integrated themes. In order to unlock the potential of the students, we need to first unlock the power of character from within.

Lifeskills Enrichment adopts a holistic approach in developing the youths of today. Essentially we first seek to impart Foundational Truths which is the bedrock upon which our programmes are grounded on. These Truths or Universal Principles form the basis of the development of the youth's

Character - Moulding of their Hearts
Conduct - Making of their Habits
Competence - Mastery of their Hands

Character
Character development consists of both the quest for excellence as well as the quest for ethics. This concept of character has the potential to transform the culture of a school in a way that improves both learning and behaviour.

Performance character

Performance character is a mastery orientation. It consists of character strengths that enable us to pursue our personal best - whether the outcome is realized or not.

Moral character

Moral character on the other hand is a relational orientation. It enables us to treat others, and ourselves, with respect and care and to act with integrity in our ethical lives. It has the important function of moderating our performance goals to honour the interest of others.

Conduct
Conduct portrays the manner in which one carries himself/herself. By developing good habits, the conduct of the student is formed. This in turn places them on a fast track towards personal excellence.

"Watch your Habit, for they become Character. Watch your Character for they become your Destiny."

Competence
Competency which is synonymous with ability is the state or quality of being adequately or well qualified to perform a task. A student gains competency through education, training, experience, or natural abilities. Competencies are observable or measurable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA).

This development of the student's Character, Conduct and Competence is then transferred into these 7 areas of influence of their lives

  • Faith - Personal Growth
  • Family - Priority Relationship
  • Friends - Peer, People, Professional
  • Relationships
  • Fitness - Physical, Mental, Emotional Fitness
  • Finance - Planning of Finances
  • Fun - Play and Enjoyment
  • Firm - Phases of School and/or Work

    Approach

The approach for LifeWorksTM is holistic and developmental in nature. The developmental process is stretched over 4 years where students are developed in identifying their strengths and motivations, have a better understanding of how to relate to others in a proper and effective manner and most importantly, learn to take ownership of their lives and make responsible decisions.

    Progression

LifeWorksTM developed with the Social Emotional Learning Framework in mind where the emphasis is on the following 5 components:
    1. Self Awareness
    2. Self Management
    3. Social Awareness
    4. Relationship Management
    5. Responsible Decision Making
