Character Development Series

In association with Character First Institute (USA), Lifeskills Enrichment's character development series since 2003 aims to partner educators to coach character qualities that will enable their students to be happy, trustworthy and responsible citizens. This series of lessons on character development would increase the youth's awareness and understanding of the value of character for successful living, and can be customized to the school's core values. This programme is based on sound and well-researched materials and resources under the Character First Series developed by the Character First Training Institute from Oklahoma City, USA.

 

Character First
To develop students' character FIRST with "Character, You'll Love It" with emphasis on Responsibility. (3 hours)

 

Character for Successful Living
A one-term of 8 sessions or 2-terms of 16 sessions to help students be aware and develop character traits, namely Responsibility, Self-control, Attentiveness, Truthfulness, Initiative, Compassion. Sessions can be woven as part of school curriculum and are fun-filled, relaxed and conducted in a highly interactive environment.

 

Character Coaches Training
To equip teachers as Character Coaches with proprietary programme to teach Character Development in their school.

 

Approach

We believe that "The heart of education is the education of the heart". Besides reaching their minds, we aim to reach their hearts too. This is done through interactive teaching, inspiring stories, object Lesson, experiential games, craft work and action songs.

 

Programme Outline

Character, You'll Love It!
  • Kids will be introduced to the role that good character plays in the lives of successful, healthy and happy people.
Responsibility Rewards
  • Know what is responsibility, and the rewards they will reap in being responsible.
Self-Control Wins
  • Help kids understand cause of lack of self-control, and win battle to master themselves Attentiveness Values
  • Appreciate the powerful role attentiveness play in conveying the worth of a person and his idea.
Truthfulness Stabilizes
  • Truthfulness builds consistency which in turn produces trustworthiness in a person.
Initiative Leads
  • Develop potential to demonstrate initiative and see value of initiating an idea, putting it into action & seeing its fruits
Compassion Heals
  • Look beyond self to touch others around you to meet genuine needs.
Praise and Award
  • Encourage praise in order to affirm desired change that is seen in kids to reward good character.

Approach

All our programmes combine personal discovery tools, experiential learning, group activities and peer learning for maximum effective learning. The learning environment is expected to be highly experiential, fun and engaging.

Post-training
report & email
follow-up services

A post-training report will be submitted to the school for any necessary follow-up. The report will provide useful observation, feedback and suggestions from trainers and students for improvement. We provide customized email services for student leaders to consult trainers on leadership issues and problems faced.
